Advantages and Disadvantages Of The Honda Civic Genio

Advantages and Disadvantages Of The Honda Civic Genio – Looking at Honda’s extensive pedigree, the Civic Genio is part of the 5th generation Honda Civic family which was first launched in 1991. At that time, the Genio was a sedan version of the Civic Gen 5, and a hatchback version was introduced the following year under the name Honda Civic Estilo .

Advantages and Disadvantages Of The Honda Civic Genio

rubiconraceteam-These two Civic Gen 5s came to Indonesia together in 1992. The Honda Civic Estilo and Genio both existed until 1995. The chassis type itself is called EG, but in Indonesia the Civic Genio chassis code is SR4, and the Civic Estilo chassis code is SR3.
Saat itu, tren pasar model sedan di Indonesia masih sangat tinggi, sehingga tak heran jika penjualan Genio jauh lebih baik dibandingkan Estilo.

One of Genio’s fans is the late singer Nike Ardila. At that time, he was driving a 1993 Honda Civic Genio SR4 and was quite busy.
The beautiful artist born in West Java died on March 19 1995 in an accident on Jl RE Martadinata Bandung, even though she had a car with the green plate number D 27 AK.
Let’s go back to the Motsuba, an old car created by Honda. Now the situation is inversely proportional between Estilo and Genio. If in the past the Estilo received little attention, now the price of a used Honda Civic Estilo has skyrocketed. Depending on the condition of the vehicle and the details of the restoration and modifications carried out by the previous owner, it could be said that there is darkness.
Estilo is also often the first choice for performance car lovers when they need a vehicle that is suitable for use on race tracks or straight tracks for drag racing. In contrast, the Genio is noticeably quieter in standard condition or when modified to a more elegant style. However, the price of a used Genio tends to be cheaper than the Estilo

Advantages of the Honda Civic Genio Car
1. The price of a used Honda Civic Genio is cheaper than the Estilo. As mentioned previously, the price of a used Genio will be cheaper than if you look for a working Honda Estilo in the same condition. Several used car buying and selling sites, including Mobil123, list the price of a used 1992 Honda Civic Genios. Depending on its condition, the cost can reach IDR 35 million. However, for those with a certificate from 1994 to 1995, the price starts from IDR 45 million.HOnly if the seller states that the car is still in standard condition and ready to drive.
This value will actually change if you find a Civic Genio that has been fully restored or is in low mileage condition. Significant changes were also made to the device, including the use of Japanese brand aftermarket rims on the replaced machines.

Even so, the Genio is much cheaper compared to the price of the Honda Estilo, considering that the hatchback version can reach IDR 100 million.

2. Timeless design
Toyota Corolla As a rival to the Great Corolla, Genio has an attractive design. The body tends to bulge and sharp corners are minimized, but this allows for permanent use.
Because the design is relatively simple like this, you can make changes such as making smaller parts such as the headlights thinner and brighter, adding yellow mica to the turn signals, and replacing the rims with Japanese aftermarket parts. The method is easy and the numbers remain the same and should become more attractive. The cabin design is also not too challenging. The dashboard layout is very simple, but functional, easy to reach for the driver, and ergonomic. The curves of the front row seats provide comfortable support even during daily driving in a busy metropolis.

3. Provide driving pleasure
Apart from the ergonomic driver’s seat design, the Honda Civic Genio also offers driving comfort and driving pleasure. The foot-mounted suspension still provides a luxurious feel for urban use at low and medium speeds. This suspension does not burden you when passing through potholes and bumps which are common in residential and business areas. Interestingly, even at high speed, the suspension response when asked to maneuver feels light and erratic.

Weaknesses of the Honda Civic Genio
1. Cabin quality is too basic
The Civic Genio’s interior design is ergonomic and very comfortable for the driver and passengers, but overall it feels bland.
The dashboard and door panels are made of hard plastic. If the previous owner did not take good care of this car, it could crack or the paint would fade. Apart from that, the upholstery of the driver’s seat and all passenger seats are also made of fabric whose surface is not completely smooth. Of course, once dirty, it is very difficult to clean.

2. VTEC technology is not yet used
Honda is popular among young people and the younger generation because it has a powerful engine with flagship VTEC (Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control) technology. This technology improves fuel efficiency by regulating engine speed and opening the valve slightly at low speeds. Then the valve opens further at high speed and provides good performance.

This ensures your vehicle performs optimally, but also maintains better fuel efficiency. Unfortunately VTEC technology is not yet available on the Civic Genio. So, if you want to experience a more powerful Civic Genio, the solution is to replace the engine with another type of Honda.

3. Be careful of foot diseases
The Civic Genio uses independent double wishbone suspension on all four wheels. Choosing this type of suspension will make the vehicle more comfortable to drive, but on the other hand, you have to allocate more budget for repairing the undercarriage, because these parts are not as durable as their competitors.
